The MS 271 C-BE differs from the MS 271 by its quick chain tensioner which does not require any tools to tension the chain, and by its ErgoStart starter handle associated with a priming pump which reduces the effort and engine starting speed. Maintenance is simplified and comfort when starting up is increased.
ErgoStart STIHL (E)
A spring is inserted between the crankshaft and the starter system. When you pull the starter cord, the spring stores energy. When the tension force of the spring becomes greater than that of the engine compression, the spring delivers this energy by driving the crankshaft. Result: You no longer experience engine compression, it is the spring that does its job
Pump priming: It allows you to quickly fill the carburetor with fuel by simply pressing your thumb before starting the engine and thus reduce the number of starting cycles after long periods of non-use, running out of fuel or during first use. Starting is then easier and instantaneous.
Compensator: Whatever the level of clogging of the air filter, the STIHL compensator keeps the dosage between air and fuel entering the engine constant. This ensures that the engine always develops optimized power. Additionally, maintenance intervals are longer and costs reduced.
